LEE CANYON’S 2021 WINTER SEASON FINALE FEEL GOOD WEEKENDER: FRIDAY, APRIL 2 – SUNDAY, APRIL 4, 2021

Lee Canyon marks the end of the 2020/21 winter season with Feel Good Weekender, Friday, April 2 – Sunday, April 4. All weekend, lift tickets will be $25 with $5 of every sale donated to High Fives Foundation, a non-profit supporting mountain sports athletes with life-altering injuries. Guests must reserve parking in advance; details are at www.leecanyonlv.com.

Lee Canyon is already on track to beat this season’s goal of raising $15,000 for High Fives; since the launch of Feel Good Fridays in 2017, the resort has donated more than $50,000 to the non-profit. The season-ending three-day weekend fundraiser supports Bishop Gorman grad and High Fives Athlete Shelby Estocado, who sustained a T-6 spinal cord injury in 2020 that left her paralyzed. Feel Good Weekender also reflects the spirit of this unusual winter season at Lee Canyon.

“In a year where people had to remain physically distant due to COVID, Lee Canyon’s community came together to support people in need,” says Jim Seely, Lee Canyon’s director of marketing. “We are continually inspired by the Las Vegas community’s willingness to help others.”

At the start of the pandemic, Lee Canyon and its parent company POWDR launched its Play it Forward Fund, established with seed funds from the Park City, Utah-based Cumming Family. “The purpose of the fund is to help organizations who do the heavy-lifting supporting the most under-served and at-risk members in our communities,” explains Seely.

This year, though modified for COVID restrictions, Lee Canyon’s Play it Forward events like the Chris Ruby Memorial Cup and Feel Good Fridays supported its non-profit partners. To make it easy for guests to support the Play it Forward Fund, QR codes were posted throughout the resort. In March, the resort is matching all donations made by guests.

“Our events and guest donations empowered us to make financial contributions to Nevada Community Foundation, Nevada Donor Network, High Fives Foundation, and The Shade Tree,” says Seely. Pre-season, Lee Canyon held its annual Spread the Warmth Coat & Sock Drive for Project 150 and a blood drive for the American Red Cross.
Lee Canyon encourages skiers and snowboarders to take advantage of loyalty rates for 2021/22 season passes; details are available at www.leecanyonlv.com.
