LAS VEGAS (Feb. 21, 2019) – Lee Canyon, Southern Nevada’s premier year-round destination and a POWDR company, invites skiers and snowboarders to celebrate International Women’s Day, Friday, March 8. Along with free clinics led by women coaches, music, and giveaways, Fergusons Downtownwill host its first-ever Market on the Mountain, a special edition of its popular Market in the Alley, a free curated market that celebrates local vendors of art, crafts, and other items.
Skiers, snowboarders, and community supporters of all ages and genders are welcome. The event coincides with the Feel Good Friday event series so lift tickets are $25 with $5 from each ticket benefitting the High Fives Foundation, a nonprofit that raises awareness to injury prevention and provides resources for injured mountain sports athletes. Lift tickets are available for purchase online or at the base lodge the day of the event.
“Lee Canyon designs programming to cultivate a sense of community. Hosting an International Women’s Day celebration is a way for us to support girls and women who are an important part of our winter sports community and empower them to take their skills to the next level,” said Lee Canyon marketing director Jim Seely.
Ski and snowboard clinics will begin near the terrain park that is accessed by the Bluebird chairlift. Rental equipment is available in the base lodge area; online reservations are encouraged.
