LAS VEGAS (Oct. 22, 2019) – Lee Canyon kicks off its second annual Spread the Warmth winter coat and beanie drive benefiting Project 150, a local nonprofit organization that assists homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged high school students in Clark County, on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Pray for Snow party hosted at Skye Center (10111 W Skye Canyon Park Dr.). Donations of gently used or new coats and new beanies will be accepted through Friday, Nov. 29 at Skye Center and other partner locations. Skye Canyon will donate $25 per coat up to $5,000 for donations made through Friday, Nov. 29. Those who donate at Pray for Snow will be entered into a special raffle.
Pray for Snow is a family-friendly, all ages, free event that runs from 3 to 7 p.m. Donations will help more than 6,300 registered and non-registered homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged high school students. Donations will be presented to Project 150 on Giving Tuesday at Skye Center. In addition to Skye Canyon, donations can be made at Powder & Sun, Burton Snowboards Outlet Stores, and REI Boca Park. “Whether one is taking to the slopes or going to class, the right winter clothing is crucial for success,” said Jim Seely, Lee Canyon’s marketing director. “The youth are the future of Las Vegas. It’s important that we come together and support the most vulnerable youth and empower them in any way we can.”
Since 2011, Project 150 has assisted thousands of homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged high school students in the Clark County School District. The services and support provided by the organization help teens stay in school through graduation and learn the life skills they need to be successful in life.
“There are things most of us don’t have to think about, like warm clothing for winter,” said Kelli Kristo, Project 150’s executive director. “For students in need of a hand up, knowing they can be prepared for cold weather is added peace of mind, which means a greater shot for success in school.”

Lee Canyon will open for its 2019-20 winter season in early December, weather permitting.
