Skye Canyon and Lee Canyon Spread the Warmth to Project 150 on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018

Skye Canyon and Lee Canyon kick off the season of giving on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 27 by presenting Project 150 with coats collected during Lee Canyon’s Spread the Warmth winter coat drive and a $5,000 check from Skye Canyon. The local nonprofit established in 2011 assists more than 6,000 disadvantaged high school students in the Clark County School District by providing food, clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, and college scholarships. The presentation takes place at 11 a.m. at Skye Center.

“As a part of Skye Canyon’s Skye Serves program, we support Project 150’s commitment to providing disadvantaged students in Las Vegas with much-needed resources,” says Desiree Van Leer, marketing manager for Olympia Companies, developer of Skye Canyon. Skye Canyon’s Skye Serves program has donated more than $55,000 to 14 local nonprofits since 2016. “Our contribution to Project 150 is a part of our mission of cultivating a strong and healthy community, and that starts with Las Vegas’ youth.”

Lee Canyon’s two-week Spread the Warmth winter coat drive kicked off at Lee Canyon’s Pray for Snow party at Skye Canyon Park on Saturday, Nov. 3 and runs through Saturday, Nov. 17. Donation bins are stationed at Skye Center and at Lee Canyon partner locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley (see list below). Items needed include new and gently-used coats, jackets and zip-up hooded sweaters in adult male and female sizes. Skye Canyon is matching $25 per coat donated up to $5,000.

Partnering with Skye Canyon enables us to help Project 150 make more impact,” explained Jim Seely, Lee Canyon’s marketing director. “As the population in Las Vegas grows, it is important for local businesses to devise strategies to support the non-profit organizations assisting people in need.”

Lee Canyon is a partner in Skye Canyon’s Skye Pass program offering Skye Canyon residents exclusive Lee Canyon benefits including special rates on season passes as well as one-day lift and tubing tickets.
